
Raw food – What Happened?
It’s Up To You co-founders, Peter and Linda were first exposed to LIVING RAW FOODS when they happened upon a couple who had been ‘raw’ for 11 years. They were older than us but had bodies, vitality and clarity that left us for dead. I guess you could say they sparkled. Looking at ourselves … we did not. I had been vegetarian for many years and recently, in search of better health, had gone vegan, but I knew there was something else. Peter had been a meat eater, although had cut out red meat completely about 2 years prior to going Raw. He too was looking for better health. Both of us were overweight, lacked energy and vitality. Neither of us knew what we were looking for, but we knew it would be a step up to what we were currently doing.
The answer for us was LIVING RAW FOODS. After meeting these two friends we went ’100% raw’ immediately and stayed 100% for about a month, lost weight, got bored and started to introduce some cooked food (vegan) back into our diet.
Then I started researching raw food recipes, googling and watching YouTube video’s of the Raw Food Movement – phew there are millions of people around the world a part of this revolution! I discovered a whole new world and way of life. I bought all the Raw Food books I could, mostly online, and started making some amazing, delicious food. This new food excited us so much and made our Raw Food Journey enjoyable and more sustainable. We now choose Raw Food as a more tasty and exciting option over vegan cooked food.
