Bread and crackers are so handy to put stuff on!
Only trouble is they can be heavily processed, contain ingredients that don’t make our bodies thrive and be heavy in sugar, salt and fat.
The fat generally comes from vegetable oil, but we don’t know what kind of vegetable oil as labeling laws don’t always stipulate. Often times ‘vegetable oil’ will be palm oil which food manufacturers use in baked and biscuit products as it’s cheap, but it is 50% saturated fat and shouldn’t be included in a healthy diet.
Processed crackers will often say ‘baked not fried’ to imply they have less fat that fried foods, but that isn’t usually the case.
If you have a food dehydrator you can make these yummy Chi’a seed crackers at home ‘to put stuff on’.
